About the author

Carlos A. Curry has lived a life shaped by movement, service, and determination. Born in Colombia, he grew up surrounded by family hardship, political unrest, and the daily lessons of work and survival. Those early years gave him more than memories. They gave him discipline.

In 1963, Carlos arrived in Los Angeles and began the long process of building a new life in a new country. His path eventually led him to the U.S. Air Force, where he served for more than two decades across active duty and reserve service. As an aircraft machinist, he found purpose in precision, responsibility, and meaningful work.

Later, Carlos continued to use his skills to teach, guide, and mentor others. His memoir reflects the journey of a man who never forgot where he came from and never stopped believing in the value of starting again.
