Carlos also found meaning in teaching others. He wanted to pass on the knowledge and discipline that had helped him build his own life. Later, through his work with the California Prison Industry Authority, he helped inmates in the Tool & Die Shop develop machinist skills. In doing so, he gave others a chance to learn a trade, build confidence, and prepare for a better future.
